Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority continues to leverage artificial intelligence and smart technologies to enhance the safety and security of the public transport system, as part of its ongoing efforts to provide safer, more efficient, and reliable mobility services across the Emirate.

As part of its smart monitoring system, the Authority has equipped intercity buses with 10 smart cameras positioned inside and outside each bus to monitor the road, passenger movement, and driver behaviour, providing comprehensive coverage that supports safety throughout each journey.

Taxis have also been equipped with five fully AI-powered smart cameras per vehicle, providing comprehensive coverage of both the road and the vehicle interior, enhancing monitoring efficiency and improving safety for drivers and passengers.

These smart systems strengthen safety and monitoring capabilities, support faster responses to incidents and observations, and leverage advanced technologies to improve operational efficiency, contributing to a safer, more efficient, and reliable mobility experience.

The integration of these technologies reflects the Authority’s commitment to developing a smart and sustainable transport system that places people’s safety at the heart of its priorities, enhances quality of life, and supports the objectives of the “Year of the Family 2026” by providing a safe mobility environment for all members of the community.
