Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority has announced a partial traffic opening between University City and the Institutes Land area, providing two lanes in each direction from Industrial Area 17, through University Bridge, to University City, helping facilitate mobility and improve traffic flow in the area.

In parallel, a partial road closure and traffic diversion will be implemented from Industrial Area 17 towards Maliha Road, with alternative routes provided to access Sharjah English School, Nesto Hypermarket, and surrounding services, in accordance with the approved routes illustrated in the attached traffic plan.

These traffic arrangements form part of the Etihad Rail Station Access Roads Project, which aims to develop infrastructure, enhance road network efficiency, and improve connectivity with key roads and facilities in the area.

The traffic diversion will be in effect from Wednesday, 26 August 2026, until Monday, 5 October 2026.

The Authority urges road users to adhere to the approved traffic diversions and directional signage, use the designated alternative routes illustrated in the traffic plan, and follow road safety instructions to ensure their safety and maintain smooth traffic flow throughout the implementation period.
