Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority Announces Partial Traffic Opening Between University City and Institutes Land Area as Part of Etihad Rail Station Access Roads Project

Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority has announced a partial traffic opening between University City and the Institutes Land area, providing two lanes in each direction from Industrial Area 17 via University Bridge, as part of the ongoing Etihad Rail Station Access Roads Project.

In parallel with the partial opening, the traffic diversion towards Maliha Road will remain in place, with alternative routes provided to access Sharjah English School and Nesto Hypermarket, helping facilitate mobility and maintain smooth traffic flow throughout the construction period.

The traffic arrangement will be in effect from Tuesday, 6 October 2026, until Sunday, 29 November 2026, in accordance with the approved alternative routes illustrated in the traffic plan.

The arrangement forms part of the implementation phases of the Etihad Rail Station Access Roads Project, which aims to develop infrastructure, enhance road network efficiency, and strengthen connectivity between key traffic corridors in the area.

The Authority urges road users to adhere to the approved alternative routes and directional signage and follow road safety instructions to ensure their safety and maintain smooth traffic flow throughout the implementation period.
