Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority Enhances Bus Driver Readiness Through 2026 Training and Professional Development Programmes

Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority continues to implement specialised training and professional development programmes in 2026 as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance driver competency and professional readiness, strengthen safety standards, and improve the quality of transport services provided to all segments of the community.

Training programmes for intercity bus drivers covered several key areas, including safe driving, passenger service, emergency response, and the use of modern operational technologies, enhancing drivers’ ability to respond efficiently and responsibly to various situations throughout their journeys.

The programmes also included 140 school bus drivers, reflecting the Authority’s commitment to developing the skills of those working within the school transport system and strengthening safety and operational efficiency, contributing to safer and more reassuring journeys for students and their families.

The Authority considers investment in driver training and professional development a key pillar in advancing the transport system, recognising that every safe journey begins with a qualified driver equipped with the knowledge and skills required to deliver safe and reliable service.

In conjunction with the “Year of the Family 2026,” the Authority continues to develop the capabilities and readiness of its workforce, contributing to safer and more comfortable journeys, enhanced transport service quality, and stronger community confidence in Sharjah’s transport system.
