SRTA Launches QR Code for Taxi Service
Continuing to implement its plans for comprehensive smart transformation, in conjunction with
GITEX 2019, Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has announced the availability of a
taxi service using QR Code at the bus stops in the emirate as a first phase of the project.
Abdelaziz Mohammed Al Jarwan, Director of SRTA confirmed that the taxi reservation service has
been launched through the QR Code system in 27 air-conditioned bus stops throughout Sharjah as a
first phase of the service.
He explained that the system "QR Code" to book a taxi allows individuals to request a taxi by
simply scanning the code in the stations on the phone camera, and then receive a text message to
the user details of the vehicle that will arrive in a few minutes.
